Exeter College will be hosting the annual Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall Residential in June 2023 at Exeter College, Oxford.
The purpose of this free event is to support year 12 students from state schools in preparing to apply to Oxford, including course choice, UCAS applications, personal statements, admissions tests, and interviews. It also gives students an opportunity to experience life in an Oxford college and meet our students, tutors and admissions staff.
Please pass this on to any other students who would benefit from attending and ask them to register –registration details available in early 2023
In the event of oversubscription to the programme, places will be offered on a first come first served basis to those pupils whose predicted grades meet the standard offer required for their chosen course.
All school students who have gone in the past really enjoyed it.

Please find information about our Oxford and Cambridge Online Information Days 2023 below.
Colleges at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge are working together to demystify Oxbridge and give information about the admissions process. We are running a series of online webinars aimed at students, teachers, and parents. For student sessions, please sign up as their teacher. The webinars are designed to be shown to a classroom of students by a teacher.
Please note that recordings of the sessions and any resources mentioned will only be emailed to those schools that have signed up. Please sign up if you would like a recording of the session, even if you are unable to make it.
For Students:
These sessions are aimed at Year 12 students who may be considering making an application to Oxford or Cambridge, and would like to find out more about student life and the admissions process. Younger students are more than welcome to attend if it would be helpful. We recommend that students attend both sessions, as they offer different insights into Oxbridge. As such, both sessions are repeated to suit your availability.
Session 1: Introduction to Oxbridge and Student Life
This session will introduce students to Oxford and Cambridge, explaining their similarities and differences, and will explore both the collegiate system and the tutorial/supervision mode of teaching. Students will also hear from current undergraduate students about what it’s like to study at Oxford and Cambridge.
This session will explain the admissions process for both Oxford and Cambridge, giving advice on personal statements, admissions tests, and interviews. Students will also gain insight from one of the College’s Admissions Tutors.
At Oxford, we often talk about ‘supercurricular activities’ (the things you do outside of the classroom which relate to your subject). It is useful to explore your chosen subject in more detail but it can be tricky to know where to start. We’ve made a list of useful things to read, listen to, and watch – hopefully you’ll find something of interest here!
